Fair winds and following seas, Mr. Quentin C. Aanenson
Mr. Quentin C. Aanenson was a P-47 pilot in Europe during WWII passed away. He was the principal person behind the PBS documentary "A Fighter Pilot's Story". It was a fascinating story about this member of the Greatest Generation and the 391st Fighter Squadron / 366th Fighter Group.
I remember one scene at the end of the documentary about a conversation he had with a neighbor when he returned to college about saving a group of tanks. He started talking about attacking German positions, the neighbor finished the story. He was in one of those tanks.
